Brief Directions By Road: The ground can be found off the A404 Uxbridge Road adjacent to Northwood Golf Club. From the M25 junction 17 take the A412 signposted Rickmansworth and simply follow the signs for Northwood (A404) for about 4 miles. Chestnut Avenue is the first turning past the Golf Course on the right just past the huge grey iron railway bridge.

Car Parking: There is a small car park at the ground and an additional car parking area within the recreation grounds surrounding the stadium.

Directions By Train: The nearest underground stations are Northwood (half a mile) or Northwood Hills (also about half a mile)

Eating And Drinking Locally: If travelling by car from Rickmansworth a visit to the Old Green Man on the A404 is a good bet. Very inexpensive quality meals are on offer and I sampled the enormous 16oz steak once with all the trimmings and failed to finish it. But only because I had a portion of Smoked Salmon as a starter the size of the isle of Sheppey! The Northwood Hills is a pub opposite Northwood Hills Underground, well it would be wouldn’t it? It is allegedly the venue for Elton John’s first ever gig and the interior proudly displays EJ memorabilia.

The Social Club: The Social club at the ground will make us welcome. I like to try and encourage all Bees fans to make a pilgrimage to the social clubs at these smaller clubs it is often a lifeline for them.

Ground Description: Northwood will be playing in the Southern League Central Division North for season 2015-16 and the ground will more than cope with the rigours of that level. The main stand has room for around 300 and a covered terrace behind one goal has room for about 1,000 in a capacity of just over 3,000.

Normal Admission Prices: Adults £8.00 Concessions £4.00 Under 14’s accompanied by adult £1.00.

Celebrity Watch and Trivia: Monster Raving Loony Party founder, Screaming Lord Sutch was a resident of these parts – I voted for him as a giggle in 1983 when he stood in the Finchley by election against Margaret Thatcher.

Linford Christie is often seen running for the 178 bus (usually catching it I might add) and shopping for underwear or having “lunch” and the like in Northwood Hills. Northwood is home to the Northwood HQ which is the location of the British Arm Forces base where top secret overseas military manoeuvres are planned, but please don’t tell anyone.
Boxer Audley Harrison went to school here and was expelled for fighting. Strange that!

The top 1970’s TV ladies bottom belonged to Felicity Kendall, without a doubt and the TV series The Good Life in which she featured was filmed in Kewferry Road.
